Gold-plated bikes, £40,000 ball gowns for dogs, million-dollar watches… This programme goes behind closed doors to meet the craftsmen and women who make lavish gifts for the world’s richest people. Among the ludicrous offerings on display this year are a 24-carat gold-plated bicycle (£250,000), a coloring book (£23,900, but wait a minute: it’s “bespoke”, so that’s fine) and a mechanical cake made by a patissier.

Our team of editors and contributors traveled across the globe to put together this year’s World Elite List Top 10 Restaurants. We started with nearly 100 restaurants, and whittled it down to the 10 below, found in several countries: in major cities, the dreamiest beaches, and places travelers have rarely heard of before. Our army of restaurant sleuths assessed everything from ambiance to desserts. Ultimately, the restaurants that land on this list are the absolute best of the best; the game-changing, boundary pushing, mains that are so good, we’re already dreaming about going back.
